Thienpont Family

SUB-REGION

Right bank, Bordeaux

Château Le Pin stands as a jewel of the Bordeaux Right Bank, epitomizing the pinnacle of artisanal winemaking and exclusivity. Nestled in the renowned Pomerol appellation, this esteemed estate is celebrated for its limited production and exceptional quality.

Founded in the late 20th century by the Thienpont family, Château Le Pin quickly ascended to legendary status for its uncompromising commitment to crafting wines of unparalleled distinction. The estate’s vineyards, meticulously tended by hand, consist primarily of Merlot vines planted on gravelly clay soils, yielding grapes of exceptional richness and concentration.

Despite its modest size, Château Le Pin’s annual production is extremely limited, averaging around 500 to 700 cases per year. This scarcity, coupled with consistently high critic scores, has cemented Le Pin’s reputation as one of the most coveted and collectible wines in the world.

Le Pin’s grand vin, bearing the estate’s namesake, is a masterpiece of Bordeaux winemaking, revered for its opulent fruit, velvety texture, and remarkable aging potential. With critic scores consistently reaching the upper echelons of excellence, each vintage of Château Le Pin represents a rare and precious gem sought after by discerning collectors and enthusiasts alike.

“If you wouldn’t own a wine for 10 years, then don’t own it for 10 minutes”

Our approach is straightforward: we endorse exclusively the most acclaimed vintages from premier wine estates worldwide. By prioritising top critic ratings, we secure lasting value for our investors’ collections. The graph below shows the performance of the most recent vintages with at least 10 years’ worth of performance. Every year the estate will produce a new vintage for that year. Please bear in mind that once a vintage has been produced, it matures in the barrel for 2-3 years before being released on to the market.

Critical Acclaimed Vintages

The graph below illustrates the performance of the top vintages we recommend, highlighting their price growth since market release. It is important to know that most red wines undergo a maturation period of at least 3 years in the barrel before being release. Champagnes often mature in about 8-10 years prior to release.
